Then from yesterday night to today, I've been looking at making cutscenes! And how to do all those weird doohickeys - barely scratching the surface of events. I'd like to look into cause and effect events but I'm not sure how much I could implement that in the game within time - if at all. As far as I see, it's gonna turn out like an interactive story if anything.
I have somewhat fleshed out a story I want to do. I am doing my best to keep the storyboarding under control as I love to expand my stories. I want it as simple as possible for this game jam in order to finish it. As it is now, it really is gonna be a pre-pre-pre alpha prototype to what I want to make. I plan to continue working on it even after the jam, hoping to make the real game in my own time.
But for sure, I've realized I want to focus on the design and mechanics foremost to gain a good grasp at how to work RPG maker. And assuming that I do, hopefully after all the creation - things would fall into place.
I really should stop lazing around though... the deadline is coming close.
