Great question! Several things since I'm free from the fiery pits of nursing school!!!
However, can I take a moment and say I'm really thankful I'm out of there and can breathe and not be stressed out? Another things is that now, I'm experiencing so many new "firsts" in my life that I'm an anxious ball of anticipation for the future. What plan is there for me!? I guess I'll have to pave my own way and find out.
The biggest thing that has been certainly new and exciting for me lately is Dungeons & Dragons! I've been blessed to meet with a friend who was willing to DM for me and some other people in my discord group, and it's been fun! Then the old roleplayer from dA revived in me somewhere and I suddenly want to make a campaign of my own. Uh oh hahaha! I think it could go better this time around though since I'm well aware of how much I need to prepare (a lot.....) and that I've given myself time to do so as well. I also understand how not experienced I am in the setting and gameplay, but we all gotta start somewhere. I'm really excited to share characters and world I built myself to my friends and have fun!
This topic... I feel has is kind of controversial, but I'm reveling in the Tumblr exodus recently. I'm SO ready for something to appear on the horizon and replace Tumblr's might and glory as a hub for sharing art and I'm eyeballing a few alternatives who may be ready to swoop in for the taking. I'M TALKING ABOUT YOU, PILLOWFORT. I have high hopes for you and I'm excited to see where my $5 bucks takes you. I also signed up for Mastodon ages ago, but they completely rehauled the site into something bigger and kinda daunting. I'd like to dabble in it as well, but it functions too similarly to Twitter for me to really settle in (as, you can see, I quite like Twitter). Pillowfort just reminds me of a mash up between Tumblr and Deviantart which I'm both ready and scared for haha.
ALSO can I mention that Deviantart is seeing some changes too? Perhaps an evolution??? I was complaining to Kimchee the other day about it then maybe within that day I find out they announced ~Deviantart Eclipse~. Ooooh aaaah. Things I was complaining about is that the overall design of dA felt so old and didn't really compliment a portfolio at all. I also have a hard time seeing it as a professional portfolio site now. And in general, the site was stagnant - nothing was really improving or changing there which didn't give it any appeal or reason to recommend it. But this Eclipse thing looks interesting! I'll keep my eyes peeled for it.
A strange interest I've picked up lately is old century cooking. From the colonials of the 18th century to back to the Romans - it's interesting how they gathered and made food. I've also furthered evolved into some peeks into logistics of war and why architecture was built in a certain way for a time period. It's... been an interesting ride so far but very informative! Not sure where exactly it'll come in handy, but I've been enjoying the new things I'm learning.
Lastly, I've totally become a mobile game nerd. Latest games I've been playing on my phone are Dragalia Lost and Epic7. Dragalia Lost has been nice since I like the cute designs and stories for all the characters, but it's pretty mindless in gameplay for me. Epic7 however, feels way more engaging for my brain and it's my first time actually enjoying the grind. Cool games!!
That's about it for lately. I'm curious where my interests will be in a few months!
